Find Out More About Viola
To remember and honour the identities of the women that inspire us and whose stories we wish to celebrate, we have named each piece of jewellery after a female pioneer at the forefront of Italian history.
The name of this piece pay homage to Franca Viola who was the first woman in Italy to refuse a 'rehabilitation marriage' following a sexual assault in 1965, which would have negated the perpetrator’s crime. Instead she chose to press charges and succeeded in prosecuting him. Her courage and resilience led to a subsequent change in legislation. Viola has since become a symbol of social progress and the emancipation of women in post-war Italy.
