Find Out More About Sarti

To remember and honour the identities of the women that inspire us and whose stories we wish to celebrate, we have named each piece of jewellery after a female pioneer at the forefront of Italian history.

This piece is named in honour of Teresa Sarti Strada, the co-founder and first president of the Italian charity Emergency, which provides free medical treatment to the victims of war, poverty and landmines.

Teresa Sarti was a proactive supporter of peace and human rights, and starting out as a high school teacher, she went on to set up the charity in 1994 together with her husband. Their NGO now operates on the basis that access to free healthcare is a fundamental human right, which it aims to fulfil through the construction, support and operation of hospitals in predominantly war-stricken countries.
