Find Out More About Rita
To remember and honour the identities of the women that inspire us and whose stories we wish to celebrate, we have named each piece of jewellery after a female pioneer at the forefront of Italian history.
This elegant statement piece takes its name from an exceptional woman of the twentieth century - Rita Levi-Montalcini.
A Jewish-Italian neurologist and an Italian senator later in life, Levi-Montalcini faced persecution during World War II, leading her to set up a laboratory in her own bedroom to continue her work whilst in hiding. Her fearlessness and determination paid off when, in 1986, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering the nerve growth factor. To this day, she stands as a shining example of perseverance and as a female pioneer in science.
