Find Out More About Anselmi
To remember and honour the identities of the women that inspire us and whose stories we wish to celebrate, we have named each piece of jewellery after a female pioneer at the forefront of Italian history. This statement piece is named after Tina Anselmi Italy's first female minister.
Born in 1927, she became a member of the Italian resistance during the Second World War. In 1595, she joined the Italian Christian Democratic party and became the party’s first female deputy leader, fighting for gender equality and proposing equal opportunity laws to the Italian parliament. She made history in 1976, when she was appointed Minister of Health. She later broke new ground again, when she became the first woman to lead a public inquiry in Italy, forming the head of a commission to expose a corrupt far-right political network. Today, she is best known for becoming a pioneer for gender parity and her significant role in making free healthcare accessible throughout Italy.
